Vital Energi

Vital Energi provide sustainable and renewable energy solutions for the private and social housing market, specialising in schemes which deliver long-term benefits, not only for our clients but also for residents. We have been providing energy generation and infrastructure solutions for over 30 years and have connected over 70,000 homes to district heating schemes. We have a long track record in Scotland, delivering projects of all sizes including a new energy scheme for 1,900 homes on the Wyndford Estate and the new build 2012 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village in Glasgow.

Working with you from design, installation and through to long term operation and maintenance we look to add value to your project by further optimising energy savings to the end user as well as carbon savings.

We are capable of delivering an entire energy solution, or working with your professional delivery team to provide one part of your project including:

  • Design and build of energy centres
  • District heating networks
  • Asset Management
  • Heat Interface Unit, smart heat metering, data collection, billing and customer service support
  • Providing ESCO services and adoption

In addition to our technical work, we work with the local community to educate residents and stakeholders about their new systems and to make them feel part of the project.  We use a range of channels, from posted newsletters, local and regional press and social media, through to consultations and drop-in information events. By engaging with the local community and educating stakeholders we can help build a positive reputation for a project which lasts well into its legacy phase.

We work with a wide range of clients and here’s just a few of the comments we’ve had:

“The Energy Centre at the Athletes’ Village shows the way forward for sustainable living in Glasgow, with reduced carbon emissions and lower heating bills making this new neighbourhood something for other developments to aspire to.“

Bailie Liz Cameron

Executive Member for Business and the Economy, Glasgow City Council

The Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village

“Vital Energi provided a well-designed new community energy system using a state-of-the-art Combined Heat & Power (CHP) engine, three large gas boilers and a thermal store, all housed in a new Energy Centre at the edge of the estate. There is no question that without Vital Energi’s help on this project it would not have been possible. The scheme had to be delivered to a very tight timescale in order to qualify for the grant. Vital Energi has been a joy to work with and all of the problems have been successfully overcome so that the scheme is on course for delivery within 10 months of it starting on-site.”

We took the decision to address some of the issues by constructing from scratch our new Logic Accredited Centre of Excellence here in Glasgow. We chose the name Gas Educational Training (GET) as that is exactly what we provide – Gas Educational Training. GET will be a leading gas training provider given our high wealth of experience through our accredited trainers.

Of particular interest to Registered Social Landlords and Social Housing providers are our Logic Approved courses on Gas Safety Awareness in Social Housing and  Auditing of Gas Business’s Work Management Procedures and Auditing of Gas Works.

Saltire operates a 24/7/365 Call Centre and work pattern in our administration, operational support and technical departments to ensure that our clients always have direct access to knowledgeable people.  Our robust scheduling system allows us to plan and re-plan workload by providing a 4-week view to our planners and enables them to identify potential shortages and reallocate resources to match changing demands.  We monitor performance by engineer and by job through our scheduling system and take early action to address any adverse trends or potential issues that might impact on KPIs. Saltire offers a comprehensive range of Emergency Repair Services and employ a multi-skilled team of Engineers and all- trades who work round the clock to carry out home emergency repairs including plumbing, lost keys, broken windows, faulty electrics, burst pipes etc.  Supporting these operations are schedulers and planners,  available 24/7/365 and can therefore adapt to increases in call-outs due to adverse weather conditions, increased routine maintenance programmes, increased non-access rates, or other unplanned events. We utilise a web-based service management system to achieve optimal business efficiency, providing real time job updates and reports on completions, no access, and follow-on works required.  This system populates the property and asset registers, provides the basis for measuring performance, records all communications against the property and gives an on-going record.
